Introduction
The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (J.S.S.C.) was established under the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Act of 2008 (Jharkhand Act 16, 2008), officially published in the Gazette notification no. 829 on December 6, 2008, by the Government of Jharkhand. This Act has undergone amendments through Jharkhand Act 03, 2011, and Jharkhand Act 19, 2011, with the changes documented in Gazette notifications no. 153 dated February 24, 2011, and no. 687 dated October 11, 2011.
Initially, the J.S.S.C. office was situated in Dhurwa, Ranchi, but due to space constraints, it was relocated on August 1, 2016, to its current premises at Kalinagar, Chaay Bagan, Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand – 834010. The foundation stone for this new office was laid by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Hemant Soren, and it was inaugurated on August 2, 2016, by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Raghuvar Das.
